Doggy Day Out
Give a shelter dog a break!
Imagine giving a shelter dog a full day of fun, adventure, and love outside the kennel. At Little Victories Animal Rescue, our Doggy Day Out program lets volunteers take adoptable dogs on short outings, whether that’s a peaceful hike, a romp at the park, or a cozy nap on the couch. These outings reduce stress, offer enrichment, and let the dogs show off their personalities in a real-world setting.
Benefits for the dog:
- Exercise – Let them stretch their legs and release pent-up energy. This is especially beneficial for younger or high-drive dogs who need an outlet.
- Playtime – Relieve stress with movement, toys, and positive human interaction.
- Exploration – Introduce dogs to new sights and smells, stimulating their minds.
Studies show time away from the shelter significantly lowers a dog’s stress levels and helps them become more adoptable. Observing their behavior outside the kennel also gives our team valuable insight into their personality and preferences.
Please note: For safety reasons, Doggy Day Outs do not include dog parks or uncontrolled environments.
