This is Josie. She was hit by a car and had to have her left eye removed.  She does have some neurological damage to her neck or spine....she walks kind of unsteady like a toddler, but she eats and drinks and does her business. She needs a patient loving family who will help her, carry her when necessary, and  help with doing her business and so forth. The vets say she may recover a lot of  her movement and control--or she may not. Either way, she is beautiful and  loving and young. She did not deserve to be dumped so that she was injured so gravely.

This is a picture of Josie from Feb 2013. Please click on "Read More" to see more cute pictures of her.

I truly can appreciate Josie's story. I have rescued a Yorkie who has similar functions though his are congenital. He has Atlanto-Axial issues with his neck and lives with pain from a pinched nerve in his neck. This is controlled by medication, he is not a candidate for surgery, but is full of life and determination. He has learned to run, play and 'hang with the big boys'! My prayer for Josie is to do the same. Please keep us updated on her progress... Special prayers go out to her.

I had a dog named Gizmo that looked exactly like her. She even had one eye, for another dog knocked it out trying to get a treat she had. She just p[censored]ed away this morning after 16 years, in her sleep. I have to say this type of breed is the most loyal pet you can have, and you won't find a sweeter type of dog! I would definitely recommend adopting this pup in a heartbeat, and I would if I could!
