Mission Statement:
The mission of Little Victories Animal Rescue is to actively search for and provide sanctuary to homeless, injured, abused, and abandoned animals. Little victories will operate with a no kill philosophy, guaranteeing the health and safety of companion animals. Little Victories will provide medical care, spaying and neutering, and strive to provide homes through adoption. Our long-term goal is, through rescue, adoption, spaying and neutering, education and community out reach, to reach a time when there will be no more homeless animals…when our animal friends have responsible, safe, “forever” homes.
Goals:
1. Rescue and Sanctuary
Little Victories will actively search for homeless, injured, abused, and abandoned animals. We intend to work with other rescues and/or shelters to place the animal in the best environment for its long term medical and adoption needs. We will do this by adopting all animals into loving, permanent homes. For animals which are not adoptable, we hope to provide sanctuary—a lifetime home where they will be loved and safe.
2. Adoption
We hope to provide programs and counseling so that safe, loving, responsible homes are found for all the animals. We intend to provide ongoing support and training so that each adoption is a success.
3. Education and Community Outreach
We at Little Victories firmly believe that education about all aspects of humane care is the only answer and the only hope in eventually having no more homeless or abused animals. To this end, we hope to implement programs to educate school children so that they grow up to become caring, responsible pet owners. We will provide awareness programs, educational material, and other means to educate the adult public about the problems of homeless animals. Our ultimate goal is to educate the community to act responsibly in the care of their own companion animals and in looking out for those animals which are homeless. And finally, we hope to provide various programs to the community to make them aware of the various cultural, health associated, emotional and other benefits of animals.
4. Spay/Neuter
We hope to eventually establish an aggressive spay/neuter campaign that will help control the irresponsible birth of millions of unwanted animals. Ultimately, this is the final answer to the problem of unwanted animals in this country. To this end we intend to work with the community and/or other rescues or shelters to make them aware of the need for spay/neuter programs and to raise the funds and provide the means for an effective spay/neuter program.
5. Volunteers
We hope to attract a large body of talented, dedicated volunteers. We will ask them to do only what they are willing and able to do so that they remain a permanent part of our program. We believe that it is only through the efforts of everyone in the community-- even if each person does just one thing—that the animals will be saved.
Little Victories Animal Rescue is a young organization. We are growing and learning all the time. We would like for all of you to become part of this organization and grow with us. Our goals are simple, but there are many paths to reach them and we will be exploring them all. Some will b e successful. Some may fail. But ultimately we will succeed because we are committed to saving the lives of animals in our area and in surrounding areas.
Won’t you join Little Victories in saving our precious friends? Please spend time on our web site to learn more about us. We know that only through volunteers who are interested not only in their own animals, but in the welfare of all animals, can we succeed.
