For all of you who helped with Trooper's surgery, the picture to the right is for you!! And for all who wished her well, it is for you, too. There was a lot of concern for this little dog. Her surgery is paid for and she has a metal plate where the stitches are holding the two parts of the pelvis together. (IT was actually broken in half!!) On her other side, the pelvis was just fractured so the vet thinks it will heal on its own. The volunteer who offered to take her is nursing her and carrying her in and out. Soon she will be able to walk. As you can see, she is not in as much pain as she was before, thanks to pain meds and the fact that the bones are connected again. Her spine is aligned now and the vet thinks all will be well. She will be spayed eventually and put up for adoption. Thank you again for your kindness.
We are now raising money to get Sydney's leg operated on .Sydney is a ten month old puppy who had a birth defect....this is not as urgent as Trooper's so we are having some fundraisers for her. We are having a bake sale and hot dog sale at Walmart at the Huntington mall next Sat. and will have a jar for Sydney!! Please come and meet our volunteers and see some of our dogs for adoption!!! And eat a hot dog and a chocolate brownie!!

HUNTINGTON -- Every time Little Victories Animal Rescue conducts an adopt-a-thon, the primary goal is to find good homes for their dogs and cats.
But many times, it's the awareness and public appearances that go a lot further, said board member Dr. Bill Webb. As an animal lover, he'd much rather see that all of the dogs and cats find loving homes, but he also understands that making people aware of the no-kill shelter and its needs is also important. |
